Consero has commissioned the widely acclaimed architectural practice, Adam Architecture, to design homes that will complement the existing housing stock of the village. The inspiration for a Design Code to ensure all the homes are delivered to a familiar architectural style which will blend sympathetically into the village has been achieved by analysing the vernacular style of housing in Nutfield and the typical construction materials that have been used.

The homes have been designed to meet a range of identified local needs providing different sizes and types of properties; apartments as well as houses to provide a mixed and inclusive community. This will enable people to live in the neighbourhood through the changing circumstances of their lives. It will enable young people seeking to step onto the housing ladder for the first time and make provision for older people wishing to downsize to attractive homes in order that they can stay within the familiar community of Nutfield.

The proposal includes a substantial number of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, 2 and 3 bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses as well as larger 3 and 4 bedroom family houses.

Careful thought has been given to the creation of attractive green spaces in the vicinity of the homes that will be a focus of enjoyment. Nutfield Green Park will promote a pleasant, safe and secure connected neighbourhood by the creation of a green corridor running parallel to the A25 accessing the Activity Park and Wellbeing Centre with its doctor’s surgery and pharmacy, community shop, café and restaurant, Extra Care Apartments, the Rehabilitation and Respite Care Facility and all other associated facilities.
